So since it's still the beginning of 2011, I thought that maybe doing a quick rundown of the my favourite movies of 2010. Now I do believe I am pretty open minded about movies, I try not to discount them for arbitrary reasons, although I do find that if they make a bad trailer, it is very difficult for me to change my mind.
I have to apologise for anyone who accidently stumbles across this blog and is still reading at this point that I am a huge Twilight fan (Team Edward!) and therefore that will colour some of my reviews, although I will try to not to go into Twilight-Obsessive mode too much!
So, 2010, some great movies, and I will just have to go with the one's I remember:
1. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
Well of course this is my movie of the year, it was long anticipated by myself and about 70 million other people so its not like I am a minority, and no I am not a teenager either. This movie was simply beautiful, well made and exciting, the best of the saga so far, want more can be said, except for Tent Scene, Meadow and proposal....now a long wait for Breaking Dawn! Wooooo!
2. The A-Team
A-ha that was a surprise huh? See, I am not just a typical woman swooning over Robert Pattinson (although that is very true), I do love me some action, and I was a fan of the A-Team when I was a kid...and I have to say this movie absolutely blew me away...it was friggin' AWESOME! Action packed, funny, fast-paced action and Liam Neeson - wow he was so good as Hannibal - amazing! The funniest was Murdock...he had some brilliant lines..."You spin me right round baby right round LMAO!
3. The Social Network
This one was a suprise to even me, I wasn't particularly enamoured by the trailer, but learning about how facebook was invented intrigued me (being a prolific facebooker) so I gave it a go, and boy am I glad because it was such a great movie. I don't know how I would convince someone to watch it though because it is basically a movie centred around a court case but I just found it fascinating. I am a sucker for the "humblest starts" although Harvard can never really be humble, however the thought that a university student created one of the biggest websites in the world...500 million users -wow - what an achievement. I was also intrigued by the music. I have to admit that I don't often notice the music in movies (unless its hip hop) but I really thought the music created such an atmosphere. Justin Timberlake was a surprise too, who knew he could act? I am a huge fan of his music, but having seen a couple of his earlier movies I was very surprised to see such an improvement.
